員林高中創設於民國26年，初為「員林家政女學校」，民國33年改制為「員林農業實踐學校」，民國35年4月12日改制為「台中縣立員林初級中學」，民國38年改制為「台灣省立員林中學」，民國59年更名為「台灣省立員林高級中學」，民國89年2月更名為「國立員林高級中學」。在歷任校長蓽路藍縷擘劃經營及所有師長奉獻努力教導下，擁有近80年歷史，以「勤、奮、樸、實」為校訓，為南彰化最優質及學術傾向的普通高中。畢業生亮麗的升學表現、校友為社會所倚重及家長支持與回饋之下，員中已不斷茁壯為中部地區一所優質學園，為許多優秀國中畢業生心目中的首選，擁有亮眼的辦學特色與績效，101年榮獲教育部學校評鑑一等，102年通過優質高中認證，104年為均質化精進標竿學校，105年擔任教育部跨國視訊核心種子學校。

Yuanlin Senior High School was first established in 1937 as Yuanlin Girls’ House Management School. The school has gone through several transformations during the 80 years and since February 2000, it has been changed as National Yuanlin Senior High School.

For 80 years, with the consistent efforts made by principals and teachers, Yuanlin Senior High School is the best academic high school in the southern Changhua County. The motto of the school is as follows: diligence, perseverance, humanity and honesty. As the graduates are admitted to ideal colleges and then devote themselves in the society, many excellent junior high school students choose to attend Yuanlin Senior High School thanks to parents’ supports and feedbacks. In 2012, Yuanlin Senior High School was evaluated among the best schools by the Ministry of Education in 2012 and has been certificated as the senior high school of choice since 2013. In 2015, it is the model school for the plan of the equalized senior high schools.

員林高校は民国26年に「員林家政女性学校」として創立され、民国89年2月、正式に「国立員林高等学校」と改称された。

歴任した校長が困難を越えて経営し、先生たちが熱心に指導した上で、80年近くの歴史がある。校訓は「勤・奮・僕・実」である。南彰化では最優秀そして学術的な普通の高校である。卒業生が良い進学成績、社会に期待され、そして両親の支援したから、員林高校は段々繁栄していき、中部地区では優秀な学校の一つになった。　優秀な中学生が第一目指して進学したい学校である。優れた学校の特色と実績があり、101年に教育部から学校評価の一等賞をもらった。102年に優等高校を認証された。104年に均質化（現在、高校の教育資源が平等に分配される教育政策）政策を実施される基準としている学校である。
